Abstract
The present work attempts to reveal the wood effect on the specific composition of semiarid grassland. A triple plan of data intake was followed for the purpose pointing out the following influence levéis, to the North as well as to the South: under the tree, in the projection of the tree T»uter branches over ground, and in clearings away from the trees direct influence. The superior strata of the 24 communities studied are holmoak tress (Quercus rotundifolia Lam.), or oak trees (Quercus pyrenaica Willd.), or «quejigos» (Quercus faginea Lam.). The planning complexity is clearly seen when recognizing typical species for some plots and for each of the three mentioned spots while, at the same time, the difference between both orientations appeared superposed.
