Abstract

An attempt was made to differentiate herbaceous species and at the same time to sepárate the states of plant maturity by means of the organic composition and reflectance valúes; in the latter case determinations were made regarding the most suitable granulometry that should be shown by the samples. From the study of the nutritional qualities of the species different orderings were obtained (overall and for each genus) on applying correspondance analysis. These orderings show both the establishment of groupings at specific level and the temporal evolutionary sequance. Ordering carried out with six valúes of the near I. R. reflectance spectrum, is equally valid, particularly when the samples are ground and passed through a 0,7 mm sieve. The specific differentiation is more appreciable than in the first case and although the evolutionary tendency sometimes appears less pronounced, it was always possible to sepárate initial and final stages. On ordering on the basis of 19 reflectance valúes, differentiation is less clear than in the previous two cases
