Resumo
This work considers the possibility and convenience of using the watershed system as study unit in grassland. Also an account and description of the highly diverse factors affecting communities where they are located are given. The possibility of using such unit becomes an unavoidable neccessity when trying to surpass a sectorial studies reach with really partial results only applicable to one particular association. Grasslands form a complicated mosaic of badly delimitated associations. Data more in agreement with the systems reality may be obtained esaier adopting watershed as unit since it shows presence of every or nearly every association possible in an edaphoclimatic environment defined with or without intense anthropozoogenic action.
