Abstract

A study was made of the relative deficieney of phosphorus (P) and potasium (K) in one type of soil (granitic lehm) for the cultivation of Trifolium subterraneum. The experiment was set up according to the HOMES method, with eleven treatments and four levels. Given the characteristics of extreme poverty of the soil used, the last two levéis do not obey the law of the said author, for not having behaved as responsable for the production for the elements used as variables; a third factor was limiting. The optimum proportions of P and K are estimated for the first two levéis without being able to verify the HOMES law, because of interference of a third limiting factor which will be necessary to investígate in new experiments.
