Abstract

The relationship between cinema and monument, understanding both of them as essential forms of diffusion and perpetuation of collective memory, establishes fundamental associations in the political arena. Through an analysis of three films, the permeable relations between both forms will be examined. The films Enthusiasm: A Song of Dombass by Dziga Vertov, Lenin on Tour by the artist Rudolf Herz and Partisan Songspiel by the artistic collective Chto Delat will serve as examples for the analysis of both forms in the field of politics and their uses in the spectrum of memory and ideological construction.
