Abstract

The present paper analyzes the modifications introduced in the Judicial Authority Organic Law (LOPJ) around abstention and recusation of judicial officials as a consequence of the reform of these issues in Organic Law (LO) 19/2003. These two concepts aim to guarantee the individual’s fundamental right to impartial judges and magistrates.
