Abstract
The scarcity of water resources in the Sahara Desert and the difficulty in finding them conditioned the development of trans-Saharan trade routes, causing real hardships for travelers and even their misfortune. The study of the different ways of water supply in these itineraries reveals their implication in the success of trans-Saharan commercial relations.
