The research presented here deals with the analysis of the school and the teaching practices carried out in a specific period, Spain between 1936 and 1970, through the analysis of a specific subject, the education of girls during this period, by means of a meticulous study of a significant sample of school notebooks belonging to the documentary collection of the Centro Museo Pedagógico of the University of Salamanca. The results, grouped into seven variables (the family, training for the home, principles of obedience, play and social guidelines, religion, the homeland and music), have made possible the historical-pedagogical reconstruction of part of our school past
