Resumen

Introducción: El Trastorno del Espectro Autista (TEA) y el fenotipo ampliado del autismo (FAA) implican dificultades significativas en comunicación social y comportamiento repetitivo que a menudo presentan riesgo de trastornos cognitivos asociados y dificultades adaptativas. El cuestionario del Cociente del Espectro Autista para niños (AQ-Child), es un cuestionario de informe para padres cuyo objetivo es cuantificar los rasgos característicos del autismo en menores en edad escolar. Objetivos: identificar de menores en riesgo de presentar una dificultad de comunicación social en edades comprendidas desde los 4 a 11 años, que han podido pasar desapercibidos en los sistemas de detección de la primera infancia, susceptibles a necesitar una evaluación dirigida a desarrollar intervenciones coordinadas preventivas y de apoyo en el contexto escolar, social y familiar. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio con diseño observacional-analítico dirigido a una muestra potencial de 1.000 menores en edades comprendidas entre 4 y 11 años. El muestreo se realizó mediante selección aleatoria en puntos de muestreo. Resultados: De los 36 casos valorados, 30 fueron diagnosticados con un trastorno del neurodesarrollo y 19 menores recibieron un diagnóstico de TEA. Conclusiones: Los resultados preliminares indican que el AQ-Child es una herramienta sensible para identificar casos de menores con alteraciones del neurodesarrollo.
