One cannot speak of migration phenomena without mentioning the violation of ri-ghts. Proof of this are the detention centers for foreigners and the great similarities with the penitentiary centers, different names for a common purpose: the deprivation of the right to roam. After an exposition of the differences and similarities between both types of centers, the focus will be on the situation of women and families immersed in the world of the detention center for foreigners
