This paper analyses, on the one hand, four exemplification’s characteristics of Nebri-ja’s Spanish Grammar (in particular, Books III and IV )–i) the types and the quantity of exemplification’s units and the mechanisms and elements of which they are composed; ii) the language’s fragments typology according to whether their use in Spanish is possible, whether they conform to the norm or rule defended by Nebrija and whether they are con-sidered models to imitate or avoid; iii) the quantity of examples in other languages; iv) the examples sources–. On the other hand, it is analysed the persistence of the first Castilian grammatical exemplification’s mechanisms, elements and even examples in later grammars and currents works.
