Abstract
This paper describes the alternating use of the first-person subject pronoun in medieval documents from the collection of the monastery of San Andrés de Espinareda, written at the same monastery or in places close to El Bierzo. The variation of forms, eu, you, yo, analyzed according to the different sources, is an example of the hybridism of the written language in this area in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries; on the other hand, the testimonies of the fifteenth century show a progressive, and finally culminated, Castilian-ization.
