Based on some recent reviews of our 2019 work, in this article we return to the key concept of «temporal indeterminacy» for describing the compound perfect (PC) in Span-ish, in order to delimit its extension, the semantic type of perfects to which it is associated, and the possibility of including certain uses of the simple past. We raise the question of whether it can be considered a semantic domain exclusive to the PC and to what extent there is a neutralization of the perfects in the varieties in which this function seems to be represented by both forms.
