Abstract

Teaching and learning the subjunctive has always been one of the great challenges for ELE teachers and students. In this paper, the advantage of approaching it in the class-room is defended from a multi-causal approach around 4 components: the significant, the formal, the pragmatic and the dialectal. The incorporation of these components must be carried out progressively in line with the learning of communicative functions and gram-matical uses at the different levels of reference.
