A mitjans dels anys 80, Edicions de La Magrana, amb Carles-Jordi Guardiola al capdavant, i aprofitant la celebració dels 10 anys de l’editorial, inaugura la col·lecció La Negra, inicialment dirigida per Àlex Broch i, més tard, per Jaume Fuster. La Negra (1986-1998) suposa una nova addició dins el panorama editorial en clau de gènere criminal. El seu catàleg es divideix en dos grans objectius: per una banda, publicar autors europeus traduïts al català i, per l’altra, incloure autors catalans que conreïn el gènere. La col·lecció aconsegueix consolidar aquest tipus de literatura, ja que ofereix un catàleg molt divers als lectors i un aparador als escriptors. La Negra acaba publicant 62 títols de diferents autors al llarg dels 13 anys de vida i es converteix la primera col·lecció especialitzada que inclou deliberadament autors catalans, però també autores. In the mid-1980s, Edicions de La Magrana, headed by Carles-Jordi Guardiola, and taking advantage of the publisher's 10-year celebration, inaugurated La Negra collection, initially directed by Àlex Broch and later by Jaume Fuster. La Negra (1986-1998) is a new addition to the editorial scene in terms of hard-boiled and soft-boiled literature. Its catalogue is divided into two main objectives: on the one hand, to publish European authors translated into Catalan and, on the other, to include Catalan authors who cultivate the genre. The collection manages to consolidate this type of literature, since it offers a very diverse catalogue to readers and a place to publish for writers. La Negra ends up publishing 62 titles by different authors throughout its 13 years of life and becomes the first specialized collection that deliberately includes Catalan authors, but also female authors.
