Abstract

In the province of Zamora, organ builders until 1850 stand out for their higher quality, and above all, Cándido Cabezas. Born in Aragon, this organ builder moved to locate his workshop in Zamora, from where he continued his activity, which included both new instruments and renovations. In a space of approximately ten years, between 1827 and 1838, he built at least five organs in the province: one chest organ, a positive and three mediumsized instruments, which constitute the largest set of instruments of this builder.
