Zusammenfassung

The results of the first year of the Spanish Multicentric Research on ocular injuries are presented. 475 eyes were treated (241 were perforated) . The most frequent causes of ocular pertoration were the road traffic accidents (27,4%), the occupational accidents (25,2%) and the domestic accidents (20,2%). The 49,4% sutfe red from corneal wounds and the 30,7% corneoesclerallacerations. Nearly 43,6% presented lesions Grade IV. In the 13,5% of the eyes intraocular foreign body was noticed (79,2% metalics). Ocular excision was made just in the 6,1% of the injured eyes.
