Abstract

This article aimed to analyze theconstruction of intersectoral practices by healthteams of three psychosocial care centers in JoãoPessoa city, Brazil. This discussion is part of astudy developed within the scope of a researchproject entitled: “The complex production of intersectoriality in the field of mental health: ananalysis of models and practices built by mentalhealth professionals in João Pessoa city, Paraíba,Brazil”. The project was associated with the Institutional Program for Scientific Initiation Scholarships (PIBIC) of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) andthe Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). It is afield research study with a qualitative approachthat relied on the application of a semi-structuredquestionnaire for data collection. The researchinvolved three services from the PsychosocialCare Network (RAPS). The questionnaires wereanswered by 07 health professionals which wereworking in mental health services. Thematiccategorical content analysis method was usedfor data analysis. The study revealed that professionals recognize the importance of intersectoral strategy to mental health care. However, theanalyzes suggested little articulation with otherpublic policies and the difficulty of carrying outintersectoral work.
