Abstract
The purpose of this chapter was to evaluate the usability and user experience of a voice recognition system for people with motor disabilities. Methodologically, it is oriented under the qualitative paradigm through a descriptive cross-sectional case study with a nonexperimental field design. The analyzed categories were: 1) Software usability, 2) Home automation systems and 3) Motor disability. The scientific review regarding the usability of the home automation system allowed us to define as a data collection instrument the Brooke System Usability Scale (SUS) test, (1996) that allowed us to measure through a single numerical value between 1 and 100 the usability and user experience of the voice recognition system in a sample of five experts in electronics and telecommunications, showing a score of ninety-three (93). As a conclusion, the effective functionality of the voice recognition system and its ability to generate inclusion spaces in environments that improve the quality of life of the patient with motor disabilities were obtained, however, it is necessary to optimize the security of this service.
