Poesía de la autoría femenina griega y latina (de Safo a Fabia Acona). Establecimiento del corpus, traducción y estudios de recepción

Abstract

The aim of this doctoral thesis, presented under the format of compendium of publications (a book and three scientific articles), is to establish the corpus of poetry texts written by women both in Greek and Latin in Antiquity, from their earliest testimonies in the second half of the seventh century BC (those of Sappho) until the last, towards the end of the fourth century AD (Fabia Aconia). As stated in the introduction, this corpus had not been established until now and its research has required a long road and a change of paradigm in the field of Classical Studies for it to be feasible. The publication supporting this fundamental objective is Grecorromanas (publication 1). An article (publication 3) is dedicated to the reception of Sappho by Anne Carson, undoubtedly the most relevant female author of our time from this point of view; another article (publication 2) is dedicated to the reception of Sapho by a vastly ignored but extremely important: María Rosa de Gálvez. And a third article (publication 4) is dedicated to exploring the complex reception of Sappho in various Latin American poets from Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda to Cristina Peri Rossi.
