Resumo
MediaLab USAL is a new learning space for digital technologies experimentation in an open, collaborative and interdisciplinary way. It is strongly influenced by several principles and trends of the digital age, among which are the open source the common model and the collaborative culture. This communication describes an innovation project promoted by MediaLab USAL at the University of Salamanca, aimed at the generation and publication of open, university-level knowledge in the Wikipedia open encyclopedia. During the last decade Wikipedia has gone from being one of the great enemies of the Education to becoming a great ally, especially, thanks to the degree of rigor and organization that has been reached. The free encyclopedia is increasingly present in the University and offers numerous opportunities to teachers for educational innovation. The WikiUSAL project aims to encourage the creation of university-level content and Spanish in Wikipedia, including the rigorous edition of Wikipedia content as part of the practical work of undergraduate and graduate subjects at the University of Salamanca and offering a new tool for Teachers and students.
