Los cuestionarios para las Relaciones topográficas de Felipe II y las relaciones geográficas de Indias de los años 1570

Abstract

the questionnaires included in the spanish cadastres of the XViii century, those of patiño and ensenada, have some direct references elaborated in the XVi century during the reign of philip ii. the article is based on the analysis of spanish and american questionnaires from 1575 and 1577, whose responses formed the body of the “Relaciones topográficas de Felipe II” and the “Relaciones Geográficas de Indias”. the present study will attempt to find the correspondences between both questionnaires by making a comparison between the two and at the same time with the previous ones of 1569, 1570/71 and 1573, made for the indies; and with the questionnaires of páez de castro and 1574, composed for spain, including also the editions of 1578 and 1584.
