Abstract

e aim of this article is to reread Francisco Ayala ́s lettersto Amado Alonso and Corpus Barga during his Argentine exile,om the History of Emotions approach. A study of Ayala’s emotionalcartography is proposed as experienced during his exile in BuenosAires, which began in 1939 and lasted until he le Argentina tocontinue his exile in Puerto Rico, in 1949. Although these lettersindicate intense suffering and a great emotional effort om thebeginning, the emotional communities that Ayala built in and omBuenos Aires also emerge as a subject of analysis. In addition, thisarticle highlights the emotional reconstruction carried out by thewriter during the first years of his exile
