Abstract

Study of a fragment dedicated to chivalry and a second to the work of notaries in the Ordenamientos given to the town of Peñafiel in 1345 by don Juan Manuel. This last is put in relation to Alfonso X’s third Partida, the first formulation of a complete and systematized notarial doctrine in the Iberian Peninsula. I study the influences of Bolognese proceduralism in Alfonso’s text and that variants present in Juan Manuel’s codification, paying special attention to its judicial imprint in Juan Manuel’s literature and authorial conscience.
