Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyse the parallels between the Libro del caballero Zifar and part of the production of don Juan Manuel as representing the literary production linked to the Molinist ideology. To this end, we focus on Roboán’s adventure in the county of Turbia, where he acts as an adviser to the count in a conflict in an episode with Juan Manuel’s traits due to the use of the exemplum. In this way, we examine Roboán’s role as a counselor in the development of the scene and comparison with the ideals that don Juan Manuel expresses in his didactic fictions.
