Abstract

The present article tries to offer a journey along the background of the current International Criminal Court, born in 1998 from the known as Rome Statute. In the current times, conditioned by the Russian cruel aggression to Ukraine, the rol of the ICC acquires more importance than ever in order to purge responsibilities for the commission of international crimes. Throughout these pages is analysed the way in that the longing persecuted aspiration to establish an international organism with jurisdictional character which will be able to prosecute state leaders is to a large achieved due to the Rome Statute.
