Abstract

The advantages and benefits of artificial intelligence and algorithms have marked the expansion of Industry 4.0, which has found in algorithmic labour management an optimal strategy for the survival of companies in the face of global competitiveness. However, this technological advance has a significant impact on the collective rights of working people, posing major challenges for labour law. Changes in labour relations and the labour market are evident as automation and digitization reshape the workforce, but when technology is exclusively at the service of corporate power it can have serious consequences on freedom of association. It is therefore essential to address these issues to ensure that artificial intelligence and algorithms do not infringe on the fundamental rights of working people and that, in addition, workers and their representatives are involved in the governance of the digital transition.
