Abstract
All sections draw on very diverse sources: historiography, political philosophy, political science, communication science and public international law. This entire work reflects on the meaning of empire over time, and also attempts to define the geopolitical strategic model of the United States since 1945. This work tries to emphasize aspects that have not received great attention from historians and journalists - of the last decades - of American foreign action. With a quite novel approach, several chapters reflect on the ideological and theoretical contradictions that occurred between the leaders of a country that was born from the fight against European colonialism on the Atlantic slope of North America - at the end of the 18th century - and which some time later began to gradually expand inside and outside the continent. In short, the historical trajectory of the United States outside its natural geographic space.
