Abstract
In recent decades Chile has become a favorable destination for migration, due to multiple factors related to a better quality of life that includes personal, labor and educational aspects. It is important to consider this last aspect, since it poses new challenges for school dynamics. This article aims to analyze the situation of migrant students in schools in the Chilean educational system. For this purpose, we chose a systematic review using the Prisma statement. This was carried out with a total of 24 empirical investigations indexed in the WoS, Scopus and SciELO databases, in which elements of inclusion and exclusion present in the student body, teachers and school management teams were analyzed. The results expose the resistance of teachers to the educational reality, the normalization of discriminatory practices and the lack of intercultural sensitivity in educational communities. Nowadays, discussions revolve around the initial teacher training in intercultural competencies, strengthening educational centers in migration issues and generating spaces for dialogue to ponder upon accompaniment and valuation of migrant students and their families.
