Tourist events with territorial identity and tourism developmenta comparative analysis between the regions of Setúbal (Portugal) and Extremadura (Spain)

Resumo

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar comparativamente una selección de eventos con identidad territorial para comprobar su impacto sobre el desarrollo del turismo en los territorios donde se celebran. Para alcanzar esta meta son analizados una selección de eventos con fuerte apego en los respectivos territorios de la Región de Setúbal (Portugal) y de la Región de Extremadura (España). Dichos eventos fueron elegidos en base a su repercusión, singularidad, vínculo de identidad con el destino y público objetivo. Igualmente se trataron aquellos eventos con similitud de contenidos o temática entre países que permitiera realizar una comparación internacional. La metodología establecida consistió en llevar a cabo un análisis con datos secundarios acerca de los diferentes eventos turísticos, evaluando entre otros, su antigüedad, fechas de desarrollo, vínculos con la población local, innovación o estrategia de comunicación y marca. El principal resultado obtenido es la existencia de una relación positiva entre la celebración de eventos con identidad territorial y la afluencia de turistas en el destino, al contrastar que se tratan de acontecimientos únicos que solo pueden disfrutarse en ese lugar. Las administraciones de ambos países podrían trabajar juntas en proyectos comunes transfronterizos que permitieran, por ejemplo, la alternancia de un determinado número de eventos entre ambas regiones. También sería interesante fomentar la capacidad y repercusión de estos eventos, en cuanto a la proyección de la cultura local, el desarrollo social y los vínculos comunes de ambos territorios
