Abstract

This Doctoral Dissertation deals with the situation of Italian as a working language within the Translation and Interpreting Degree in Spain through the description and analysis of the curricula and teaching guides of the universities that offer this language within their study plans. Firstly, the need for analysis of this training profile was justified through the analysis of the training plans of various centers where the Degree in Translation and Interpreting is taught in Spain. This overview has also made possible to specify several characteristics of the Italian translator’s training curriculum and the way in which the subjects included in it are approached in the different itineraries offered by each of the centres in which this language can be studied. On the other hand, and through the analysis of the teaching guides, we have delved into several specific aspects of the training curriculum in question: the assessment of the various resources recommended in the teaching guides, the characterization of their computer literacy or the implementation of contents of a cultural nature within this training profile.
