Resumen
The article shows the success of Momo, The Neverending Story and the collection of Jimmy Button-stories in Spain. In accordance with translation research, the paper examines whether the Spanish translators cope with the demanded responsibility against the author Michael Ende. Concurrently, it pursues whether they also fulfil the expectations of the target culture and its literary norms. In general, translations as target texts must perform certain functions (following the concept of Christiane Nord) and at the same time mut hold loyalty to the original text. The article also questions the role of indirect translations.
