Resum

In this paper an identification of the inclusions presents in progressively drawn pearlitic steel, by means of Scanning Electronic Microscope (SEM) techniques, is performed. The study is extensive to all the steps of the manufacturing process (wires with different cold drawing degree). In addition to that, the work contains an analysis about the inclusions’ evolution through the cold drawing process and about the micro-damage generated around those. The main object is focused in to be able to find a possible cause-and-effect relationship between the inclusions and the fracture behaviour of the wires during tensile testing till fracture.
