Principios de ética en la pandemia

Resumen

Quedan aun muchas lecciones por aprender de la COVID-19. (1) La crisis del año 2020 no solo ha demostrado la vulnerabilidad de la población durante la pandemia sino que, además, ha evidenciado numerosas desigualdades. (2) En este sentido, autonomía, equidad, igualdad y otros principios éticos definen qué se debe hacer y cuáles son los límites de la acción, “dibujan la línea” (R. Nozick). (3) La equidad es fundamental para la salud publica, según la Ley 33/2011. Justicia como equidad (J.Rawls) ejemplifica la dimensión normativa y cognitiva de los principios. (4) La igualdad es clave para cerrar la brecha de género, expuesta con crudeza por la pandemia; las practicas de cuidado – y la ética del cuidado (C.Gilligan) - son básicas para la política sanitaria. (5) El argumento aquí es que, más allá de la autonomía, los principios permiten identificar las buenas prácticas en el ámbito de la salud pública.
