Abstract

The following study analyses thirty-five Spanish proverbs that were adapted to Judeo-Spanish in the Sephardic newspaper El Amigo de la Famiya. David Fresco, editor of the newspaper, could not translate them from one language to another because of the difficulties he had in finding the right terms to make them understandable for his readers.
