Abstract

This study aims to analyze procedures directed to the search by friendly settlement through the acquisition of agreements aiming at pacifying the individual conflicts of human rights in the Inter-American System for the Protection of Human Rights, with a special focus on the proceedings submitted before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. Specifically, it seeks to promote a study of case nº 11.289 (Report nº 95/03), named José Pereira Ferreira vs. Brazil. In this sense, a descriptive methodology is adopted, through the use of critical and analytical methods to understand how the technical procedure occurred aiming the friendly settlement and to identify the nature of indicated to the case and their respective compliments, in order to verify the relevance of using of friendly settlement in terms of social human rights
