Résumé

Despite the improvements and changes in public policies in recent years to improve the health and well-being of people with rare diseases, inequalities in access -and right- to health care persist. Each of those affected by these rare pathologies have many difficulties in everyday life, so they need personalized attention. This fact, in addition, must be made clear to society so that it is aware of the advantages and difficulties that these minorities go through. In this sense, the Canary Islands is one of the autonomous communities that has taken the longest to apply a Comprehensive Plan for Rare Diseases (in 2021), considering that other regions such as Andalusia (2008) and Extremadura (2009) took these initiatives, so that an analysis is made (through the press and the regulatory framework) to find an answer to it
