Abstract

Tokyo, like any metropolis, is a drama that begins its performance in the ear - ly hours of the morning with a curtain which falls late into the night. During the in - tervening hours, millions of people go about their daily lives and errands in a rou - tine that hardly changes. A show which is largely known in this corner of the world and whose main character is a plural entity shown outwardly as: the community. However, there are moments of relaxation for its actors, solitary dinners in a very specific locale, segregated by sex following an unwritten custom, resting alongside other very similar individuals to themselves, without even noticing. All the while, they are immersed in their own problems and personal situations. Every day this gender segregation is repeated in the various restaurants and fast food gyūdon outlets.
