Miguel Ángel Verdugo has a PhD in Psychology (Autonomous University of Madrid), and a Master's in Special Education (Columbia University, New York). He professor of Psychology of Disability at the University of Salamanca, Spain. He is director of the University Institute for Community Integration (INICO), the Disability Information Service (SID) and the scientific journal Siglo Cero (http://revistas.usal.es/index.php/0210-1696/ ). He has directed or coordinated 83 competitive research projects. Among these are projects financed by different ministries. Likewise, it has directed or coordinated 84 non-competitive R&D&I contracts, agreements or projects with Administrations or public or private entities at the University of Salamanca (European, national and regional) on disability, intellectual disability, quality of life, development of evaluation instruments, employment, social skills or abuse. He directs the Consolidated Research Unit UIC 115 of the Junta de Castilla y León since 2015. He has published as author/co-author 686 scientific articles or book chapters (101 of them with JCR impact factor on the Web of Science Platform: 42 Q1; 34 Q2; 12 Q3; 13 Q4), more than 100 books/assessment scales , and presented 1,288 communications or posters at international and national conferences. The general indicators of his scientific production are: Highly prominent h-index in different international databases (01-24-2022): Research Gate h = 42; Google Scholar h=73 (i10-index=269); Scopush=28; Web of Science h = 27. He has six six-year research periods. He has been director of the scientific journal Siglo Cero since 1993. Of his scientific production, its appearance in different internationally recognized scientific production databases stands out, such as: Stanford University 'Ranking of the World Scientists: World's Top 2% Scientists' of the most influential researchers in their field in the world (PLOS-Biology ; https:// doi.org/10.1371/journal.pbio.3000918), in 2020 and in 2021; Ad Scientific Index; Expertscape Expert in Intellectual Disability: Researcher's scientific output in the top 1% (0.31% of 94,770 authors) of scholars publishing on Intellectual Disability over a 10-year period (2011 to 2021). He has published more than 600 scientific articles or book chapters, and more than 90 books or evaluation scales on intellectual disability, inclusion and quality of life. He has the highest international academic impact H-Index on disability in Spanish-speaking people: in Google Scholar Academic it is 73 (268 in the i10-index) Acknowledgments and awards for his research work include: International Award 2005 from the American Association on Mental Retardation (AAMR); AAIDD Special Service Award 2009 and 2021; Dr. Honoris Causa by ISALUD University, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 2012; Medal of Education 2014 by the University of Anáhuac, Mexico; Reina Sofía 2013 Award, for Rehabilitation and Integration of the Royal Board on Disability, of the Ministry of Health, Equality and Social Services; Infanta Cristina Research Award 2010; Caja Madrid Social Research Award 2008; UAM 2018 Alumni Award from the Autonomous University of Madrid; Family and Disability Award from the Telefónica Chair-Repsol Foundation-Down Madrid (Comillas Pontifical University) 2016; "María De Maeztu" Award from the University of Salamanca for Scientific Excellence, 2018; Sixth FEGADACE Award 2018: Castilla y León Award for Social Sciences and Humanities 2021.
