Abstract
In this paper, we approach the literary personality of Giorgio Scerbanenco, one of the Italian most prolific authors, one hundred years after his birth. Giorgio Scerbanenco is considered the father of crime fiction in his country. He was the great renewer of a genre that managed to overcome the clichés imposed by the Anglo-Saxon fiction and find its own personality. His work has been a true source of inspiration for the current main authors of this genre in Italy, such as Pinketts, Camilleri, Lucarelli, De Cataldo or Carofiglio. This paper aims to offer a review of the reception of his work in Spain (editions and translations) from the 40’s to the current time.
