Resumo

Cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) are protein kinases involved in critical cellular processes, such as cell cycle progression and transcription control. For this reason, CDKs have long been considered attractive therapeutic targets to treat hyperproliferative diseases such as cancer. Yet, the number of Cdks has significantly increased during evolution. My laboratory han been implicated in the genetic characterization of the CDK family with the aim of identifying essential and redundant functions among the diferente members.
