Doctor by the Universidad de La Rioja with the thesis Violin music in mid-18th-century Madrid: Contexts, genres, style 2015. Supervised by Dr. Miguel Angel Marín López.

Ana Lombardía is Assistant Professor of Musicology at the Universidad de Salamanca (Spain). Previously, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard University (Villa I Tatti centre, Florence), the Royal Spanish Academy in Rome, and the Instituto Complutense de Ciencias Musicales (Madrid). She has authored over 20 academic publications on instrumental music from the ‘long eighteenth century’ (c. 1660 - c. 1820), focusing on Spain and its international relations, especially with Italy. She received two international musicology prizes, the Ruspoli (Italy) and the Otto Mayer-Serra (University of California).
